Tourism industry issues and statistics

The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth - Tillväxtverket - promotes enterprise and entrepreneurship within the travel and tourism industry through boosting skills, improving quality and cooperation.

The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth is responsible for statistics on tourism, and a key task is collecting and disseminating information and knowledge about the development of tourism and the travel and tourism industry in Sweden.

Information and statistics

The production and development of information and knowledge about the development of tourism and the travel and tourism industry in Sweden are among our most important responsibilities.

• The objectives of these efforts are as follows: Companies and organizations in the tourism industry should have access to relevant information and statistics.
• We aim to increase the visibility of the travel and tourism industry by presenting it in economic terms in the same way as other industries.
• The effects of the travel and tourism industry on the Swedish economy should receive attention in keeping with their significance.

The annual publication: Tourism in Sweden, 2011 edition
